A producers studio is his voice, just as a piano is to a pianist.
As the technology has evolved over the years, I have been forced to go with it. It is almost impossible not to. Probably a good thing.
In my Australian production room I use a Mac G5 with Logic Pro 8. Over the years I have accumulated tens of thousands of instrument samples. This is my pallette, and it's vast! I love it!
This new album project I have begun has meant the need to assemble a portable version of my studio to take with me to the US. It has woken me up to just how far the technology and software has come even in the last 5 years. Looks like it's time for one of those obligatory "catch up with the times" chapters in my career. It's always exciting.....costly, but exciting.

My baby studio will comprise of:

1x Macbook Pro 15"

• 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
• 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
• 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm

Logic Pro 09 (an upgrade from my current program)
1x M-Box II - An audio box which allows me to process pro quality sound, and also use another important piece of software called Protools.

My friends in the USA are going to be able to beat any prices I can find here in Aus, so I will have to wait untill I get there before I can even set up. Not my ideal scenario, but money does does have a say here unfortunately.
